Cooper Pep Rally

If you have been following my blog you know that some football players got together and danced to a Beyonce song for the talent show. Well it was such a big hit that they were asked to perform at the pep rally on Friday. So of course I had to go to show my support and take some pictures. Texas pep rallies are a big deal. They go all out with music and decorations. And tons of people come to watch. The gym was packed with students, parents, coaches, and teachers. The guys did great dancing in front of such a large crowd. I am super proud of them. Check out these images to see the awesomeness that is a Cooper Pep Rally.

Final Cooper Football Game

Friday night was the last game of the regular season. The Cooper Cougars are district champs! I actually watched most of this game from the stands, but I ran down to the field when I noticed something super cool happening. The coaches started letting the non-starting seniors play. It was quite exciting to see these guys get their names called by the coaches to get into the game. All the players on the sidelines were cheering for them and showing their support. I am not going to lie, it was a little emotional. For some of these guys this was the last high school football game they will ever play. So congratulations to all the seniors players for a great football season! Good luck during the playoffs!

Creative Shoot with Jessica

So my dear friend Valerie and I have wanted to shoot together for some time now. I decided that we should find a model and conduct our own creative shoot. So that is what we did. Jessica was kind enough to brave the mosquitos and spiders for our little session.  We started at 5pm, which only gave us about 45 minutes of sunlight. It was fun to photograph at a later time than normal. The light was beautiful and it was awesome working with sun flares. I have yet to master the sun flare, but continue to try non the less. When it got darker I decided to be brave and use my flash. I really have a lot to learn when it comes to flash photography. But I figure you don’t learn unless you try. So that is what we did.  I had a great time shooting with both these young ladies and can’t wait to do it again.

Enjoy!

Leave a comment if you are interested in doing a creative shoot with us. Next time we do one we may use YOU as our model!

Pat Coffey - Beautiful job and Beautiful girls! Looks like you had a perfect evening and time for the shoot. Could you have asked for a better sunset than you had. Everything was perfect. Congratulations!

Susie - My favorite is the pictue of Jessica sitting the the field (or weeds?) Beautiful effect! I also love the sunset!

Clean Eating Challenge: Day 2

This morning I walked into the teacher’s lounge and you know what I saw? A huge chocolate cake! Really?!?!?! I placed my sack lunch in the fridge and ran out of there as fast as I could. Whew! That was a tough one. I know that might seem silly, but I do not possess strong will power when it comes to food. So I consider this small event a grand victory for me.

Now the hardest part is in the evening. I am at home, just hanging out and want so badly to snack. How do you refrain from hitting the kitchen during these times? Please! I need your advice. I have considered going to bed so I won’t eat. But I can’t go to bed at 9:15 every night.  I would love to hear from you and how you do it.

Jacob - Well what I usually do is everytime i think about eating something i go outside and walk around the neighbor hood or listen to my ipod, just something that relaxs me or listen to jazz music or listen to the oldies I love the oldies!

Buffalo Gap Pottery

Last Saturday Andy and I went for a motorcycle ride and happened upon this cute pottery store. When we went in we were greeted by the owners, a delightful husband and wife duo. They began sharing their story with us and even gave us a tour of their entire studio. Quite impressive. Then we were given a demonstration on their custom Egg Cooker.  See below.

This little thing is amazing. You can cook poached eggs, omelets, baked apples, oatmeal, and even steam veggies in under minutes in the MICROWAVE! And the handle does not even get hot so you can just eat right out of it. After the owner made an omelet before our very eyes we new we had to get one.  I can’t wait to go back their and buy some more items.

I encourage you to visit Buffalo Gap Pottery if you ever in Buffalo Gap. They have awesome pottery and are such kind people. You will not regret paying them a visit.

Jessica Coffey - I have one of those little egg cookers! They are great! All the pictures look so good! You are so talented!! Im glad we got to take them!

Susie - Renee, I would love to have one of those little egg pots!

Creative Shoot: Sneak Peak

Tonight my friend Valerie and I got together to do a creative shoot.  Val’s friend Jessica agreed to model for us for the evening.  She did an awesome job. I love doing creative shoots because their is no pressure and I have the freedom to do whatever I want.  So here is a sneak peak from this fun evening session. More coming soon.
