To Cut or Not to Cut

I am kinda getting sick of my hair. Back in March I fried it using my straightener while I was in Israel.  Since then I have either had to wear my hair curly (which doesn’t really get very curly) or in a pony tail. I am in the process of growing out the damaged hair which seems to be taking forever.  My hair has never grown quickly. So here is my dilemma…should I cut it all off?

I am very tempted to just cut it super short. That way all the damaged hair will be gone and I can finally have a style again. But I must confess that the idea of having really short hair scares me. What if I hate it? What if it makes my already round face look even rounder. Being almost 9 months pregnant has made my body larger than ever before. I really don’t want a hair cut that makes me look even bigger. Is that a silly fear? Even if it is I am still concerned about it.

So I need your help. What do you think? Should I cut my hair or just keep letting it grow? I need honest opinions here people. So shoot it to me straight.

Here are some options I have been considering. Let me know which one you like best and if you think I should cut or keep my hair.

ashley - hey, it depends on what would be easiest for you with the baby. Some women told me to grow my hair long so I could just put it up; others said to cut it short. I cut it short and I am so glad I did. Its still long enough that I can put it up kinda if I need to. So, I think that is really what you need to look at. I like option 3, its cute and fun.

Susie Booe - Renee, short hair is always a good idea when you have a little one to take care of. I got my hair cut pretty short after Andy was born. I just got tired of pulling it back into a pony tail all the time. I think if you keep a little over your ear, (like in option 2) you won’t feel like it is tooo short.

Jenny - Renee, Don’t do it until after you have the baby and are SURE you want to do it. I have heard that while pregnant many women (including myself—I cut 5 inches off last month and I REGRET IT) cut their hair to take the attention off of their pregnant belly…Idk if it is true, but I know that I have a lot of friends who have done it and regretted it post pregnancy! I say wait a little longer! BUT if you know you love it, and can’t wait go for it! Hope all is well.

Amanda McKelvey - go with number 3 i think:)

Lauren - I agree with Jenny! I did it while pregnant too! You think totally different when pregnant. Especially in the hot months. I suggest letting your body and mind settle after the baby comes…then decide. BTW, sorry I couldn’t come to your shower, we were in OKC 🙁
