Summary of Day 3 in Israel

Today was devoted to visiting all the congregations of Tents of Mercy and meeting, talking with, and praying over their pastors and leaders.  Tents of Mercy is a growing network of 5 Messianic congregtions in Israel. They are devoted to seeing the Jewish people come to know Jesus as their Messiah and each have a central focus on humanitarian aid. Serving the community is one of the ways the Lord is bringing people to Himself. The members of Tents of Mercy do not have an agenda when serving. They serve out of genuine love and that love draws people to the Lord. It is amazing what the God  is doing here through these people. It was blessing to listen to the testimonies of the congregational leaders and to hear their hearts for Israel and God’s children. God is really moving in this land and this men and women are in the middle of it serving God with all they are. Truly inspiring.

Day 4’s Itinerary and Pray Requests

Tomorrow we will be attending the Shabbat service with the Tents of Mercy congregation in Kiryat Yam. This is such an honor and I remember it being one of my most treasured experiences from my last trip to Israel.  After service I believe we are to observe the Sabbath and rest up before we head out of Sunday. Tomorrow should be an amazing day with the Lord and His people!

Pray Request

1. Ask the Lord to open our eyes tomorrow that allows us to experience Him in new ways.

2. Pray that we will be feel and experience a super natural connection to our Jewish brothers and sisters of the congregation and that we may be a blessing to them.

3. Continue to pray for health. It is no fun to be sick in a foreign country believe me!

Thanks to all of you new readers for coming back. Please feel free to leave a comment and introduce yourself. If I know who you know on the trip I will try to photograph them more for you!

Matt - Andy and Renee,
God bless y’all as you travel through the Holy Land. I’m so jealous y’all get to go and walk where the Bible took place. I pray it is a life-changing experience for both of you…not only that but for God to use both of you to make a difference in the lives of the people you come in contact with. I pray God shines His light through you so the people you come in contact with can see the Light of Christ in you both. As you take in an incredible experience and trip, allow God to minister to your hearts and enjoy this time together before your little one arrives. I pray that as you’re there, as you both seek Him, that according to Jeremiah 33:3, that He will show you great and mighty things which you do not know when you seek Him with all your heart. He has an incredible plan for you both and your family as it grows. You guys are in Rachel and my prayers…I’m so excited for y’all!

Always,
Matt

p.s. – we all gotta find some way to get together!! Nothing has worked so far, but I will not be deterred… :o) Y’all travel safe and have fun!!

Marilyn Gounah - Renee: My name is Marilyn Gounah and my grandson, Brennan Gounah,is with you on your trip to Israel. He is just about to complete his Masters at Hardin Simmons. They are required to take a semester of Old Testament and a semester of New Testament. He asked me to tutor him on these classes and I was proud to do so. May I brag and say he made A’s in both classes. One Bible study that I teach in my church is “Realizing the Realtiy of the Bible”. I incorporated a lot of this while I had him for these teaching sessions. You talk about ‘super natural’ things. I call them ‘just a God thing’. But either way, maybe this little in-road opened his eyes and his heart to want to know more. I was past thrilled when he told me about this trip. I will join with you as a prayer partner for great and mighty things to happen in the lives of everyone of you on this trip.

connie wade - Hi Renee – My name is Connie and my son is Brennan Gounah. This will be his first trip to Israel, and he has been super excited since the day he committed to go. I would love to have some images to order to make the trip more memorable for him. He did take my camera along, but I know the pics won’t be the quality that you could capture. I am praying for all of you daily, and my heart is certainly with YOU. I can’t even imagine being on a plane for an extended length of time 5 months pregnant… bless your heart! However, I know that God is going to do great things through each of you, and I look forward to your daily posts. Thanks for blogging for the followers. God Bless!
