Israel: Day 11

masadaThank so much for praying for this mission trip. I am thankful that God is working in the lives of people in Israel and in the lives of those on this mission. I ask today that you take some time to pray for the leaders of this mission. It is a lot of work to be in charge of a large group of people. Israel: Day 10

OH MY WORD I AM SO EXCITED!

I have been waiting for this day for eight months. Today we are headed to Capernaum and  are going to the Jordan River. The coolest part is that we will have a chance to be baptized in the Jordan River. How awesome is that? I get shivers just thinking about it. It is an the opportunity of a life time to be baptized in the same river that John the Baptist baptized Jesus. I am speechless. I mean there are no words that can explain how I feel.  Ah! Even cooler still, my brother Dustin is going to be baptized as well.  Dustin and got baptized together about 10 years ago. He was six. It was such a precious moment for me to be able to be baptized and then see my little brother make the same statement of faith. However, being so young he really does not remember it. So he strongly desires to be baptized as a confession of faith. I have been praying for a long time that Dustin’s faith would become his own and that God would reveal Himself to Dustin. God has answered that prayer and this baptisim for Dustin is super significant.  It is going to be such a glorious day. Praise Jesus!

Other stops today:

Mt. of Olives, Chapel of Dominus Flevit, Garden of Gehsemane ( Seriously, an amazing day!)

Prayer Requests

1. Please pray for those people who are getting baptized. May they understand it’s significance and may we rejoice in that!

2. Pray that we will expericence the presence of the Lord as we visit these places.

3. Pray that God would be faithful to answer His children who are searching for Him.

Melissa Scott - Our Lord answers are prayers. Today I woke up with a smile on my face and a joy in my heart that is beyond measure. My two children are being baptized today in the Jordan River….I get cold chills just thinking about Jesus being in the same place, let alone being baptized in the same river. I waited all day to get the call from Dustin and Renee telling me how the Holy Spirit filled their lives today….I went to church today in Bedford Indiana and I stood up and shared the testmony of God’s love and I told them about Beltway’s Mission trip to Israel. I asked them to pray for everyone that was being baptized today in the Jordan River. And to please give praise to God that my daughter and son, wanted to be baptized in the Jordan River today.. I rejoice!!! What a blessing they recieved.
After service was over, several ladies told me that they put my children in their prayers. I know that you both could feel God’s Hands on you today because I could feel them on me.
When we arrived home today around 7PM, we realized that the phone battery was dead…I’m so sorry I didnt get to talk to you today..But just Hearing Dustin’s voice saying he was baptized made me cry…Happy tears….Praise God, Praise God….I’m so excited for you both. I pray that you will continue to feel God’s mighty grace during your journey. God is Great. Love always and forever. Mom

Israel: Day 9

Hello everyone. Thanks so much for praying during this trip. It has been amazing! We are super excited to be able to attend the Shabbat services at Ohalei Rachamim (Tents of Mercy). I am personally excited to be apart of this assembly that values Jewish culture and tradition and still honors and recognizes Yeshua as the Messiah. It will be my first Shabbat service and I really do not know what to expect. I just know that I am eager to participate and humbled to be here.

After service we have several items on the agenda for the day such as the Mount of Beatitudes, an ancient boat museum, and a sunset boat ride on the Sea of Galilee. What a busy day:)

Pray Requests

1.  Pray that people will see Christ in us as we tour the land.

2. Pray that the people of Israel would be open to hearing the voice of God.

3. Pray that God would soften their hearts.

4. Pray that God’s will would be done in the lives of the people there.

Israel: Day 8

Now that camp is over we will begin to tour the land. We are all looking forward to visiting the sites of our bible, but we are also focused on praying for the nation of Israel.

We will be going to Caesarea and Mt Carmel. Caesarea was the place where Pontius Pilate governed during the time of Jesus. This was where Simon Peter converted the Roman, Cornelius, the first non-Jew to believe in Jesus. Paul was also imprisoned for two years in Caesarea (http://www NULL.jewishvirtuallibrary NULL.org/jsource/Archaeology/Caesarea NULL.html). During the 3rd century, Caesarea was a center of Christian learning. In the 4th century, the site converted to Christianity and became a major center of the Christian Roman Empire.

We will end the day  with an assembly at Tents of Mercy.

Prayer Requests

1. Pray for that team members will remain healthy.

2. Pray for team members’ families back home.

3. Pray that we will be a blessing to the Tents of Mercy congregation. Pray that God will use us to encourage and uplift them.

4. Pray for Tents of Mercy and their mission.

5. Pray that God will speak to each person on this trip while we are traveling the land. Pray that the Holy Spirit would be present with us everywhere we go.

Melissa Scott - Dustin and Renee I can just see you standing on this treasured site. What a awesome feeling it must give you. So much history, just knowing that our Jesus once stood in the same place and to see the Bible come to life in front of your eyes. How humbling this must make you feel. I will continue to pray for each request and more. In the name of Jesus. I love you both so much and my heart runs over with joy for your time together in Israel. Love MOM

Israel: Day 7

Today is our last day of camp. Our theme is “Yeshua knows MY name.”

It saddens me how many people don’t realize how much God loves them. I sometimes even struggle to grasp the reality of it.  No matter what Satan tries to get us to believe, the truth is that God does love us more than we will ever know. He created each of us. He formed you in your mother’s womb. He knows the number of hairs on your head! He loves you and cares for you so much that He gave His life for you. It’s amazing to think that God knows me personality. It’s surreal to think that the God of the universe knows my name and cares about my life. Wow. Lord, help us to grab hold of that and never let it go.

Prayer Requests

1. Pray that the kids at this camp will grasp more fully that God knows them personally and that He cares for them.

2. Pray that lives will be impacted for God’s kingdom.

3. Pray that He will show each person at camp that He loves them and has a plan for their life.

4. Pray that we will leave the camp changed, that God’s will would be done in lives of the kids and the team members.

Melissa Scott - Hey Renee and Dustin.
Playing baseball seems like a great way to get to know the children better. You sound like you are having the time of your lives. God is moving in many ways. Grandma Scott has recovered from brain surgery and is home already. What a blessing.
You both are seeing Yeshua’s love first hand and it will change your life forever…What a blessing that is.. I love you both so much. I’m so proud of both of you.

My Heavenly Father I praise you for all that you do. Your mighty love changes peoples lives, you fill their hearts with peace and joy. Thank you Father for all that you do and will continue to do in these young childrens lives.
