Tokyo Portrait Photographer | O’Brien Family

I love how small this great big world can be! So small that an American photographer can photograph Australian clients in Tokyo, Japan. So fun. Here is how it happened.

Japan is a popular destination for Australians who want to ski and snowboard. After hitting the slopes this family came to Tokyo to explore. They decided it would be fun to have portraits taken in the city.  Kate turned to social media to search for a portrait photographer in Tokyo. She found me on Instagram through a hashtag. #ILOVE THAT  I just opened the RBP Instagram (https://instagram NULL.com/reneebooephotography/) account a few weeks prior to her inquiry and I am so glad I did!  It was a pleasure working with these three. They were down-to-earth, flexible, and fun. They were willing to brave the crowds of the Shibuya Intersection and the cold weather. And their little man was a champion the entire time. Pure joy. I love my job.

And you must know that Kate is a very talented photographer based in Brisbane, Australia. After scroll through the  photos below please go check out her site (http://kateveronicaphotography NULL.com/)!

Tokyo Portrait Photography | Baby Stephen

Sweet baby Stephen was the best baby during his newborn session. I don’t think he cried once!

It was such a joy and honor to be able to photograph this family again. I love it when clients become friends! Lenora is such a kind person and a great mother. It has been great getting to know her during my time here in Japan.  I am very thankful to know these amazing people!

Yokohama Senior Portrait Photographer | Erica

I launched my business in Texas photographing high school seniors (http://reneebooephotography NULL.com/category/seniors/). They are absolutely my favorite demographic to photograph. So when Erica contacted me wanting senior portraits my heart literally skipped a beat. Erica is a senior at Saint Maur International School (http://www NULL.stmaur NULL.ac NULL.jp/). She contacted me wanting natural light/on location photography for her senior portraits and referred to Michelle Moore’s style. Michelle (http://michellemoore NULL.com/) is a well known photographer based out of Seattle and I am a huge fan of hers. So I  was beyond honored that this sweet high school senior contacted me for a senior portrait session. Yokohama is a lovely backdrop for any photo shoot. Most of my sessions take place in Tokyo (http://reneebooephotography NULL.com/category/the-city-session/), so it was fun to branch out and shoot in some place new. We started at the Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse (http://www NULL.yokohamajapan NULL.com/things-to-do/yokohama-red-brick-warehouse-2nd-building/) and then walked around searching for great light and trendy spots. Erica was so great to work with and is a stunning young lady. It was such a pleasure working with her. I wish her the best as she finishes out her senior year. Cheers to the class of 2015!

Tokyo Portrait Photographer | Paige & John

This Tokyo city shoot (http://reneebooephotography NULL.com/the-city-session/) with John and Paige was a dream. These two wanted to capture their time here in Japan by doing their portrait session in their favorite parts of Tokyo. We started in Harajuku and walked to Shibuya stopping to photograph along the way. They really made this session their own and  I believe that results in images that truly represent them.

The Birth of Spur On Love

I’ve been frozen. Crippled by fear and doubt.  What began with excitement and zeal has morphed into worry and anxiety.  I am under attack, attack of the worst kind. However, I know my enemy’s tactics and I refuse to allow him to have power over me.  So today I gather my weapons and plan to meet him head on in the battlefield. The Word says that, “we will overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony.”  I am ready to overcome.  No more fear for me. The enemy is not going to render me useless. Oh no. Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world. So I am going to testify. Testify of God’s goodness and share what He is doing in my heart.  In doing this, sharing and proclaiming what I believe God has called me to do, I will be one step closer to obedience and to stifling the lies I’ve been drowning in.

You may or may not know that I’ve been working on secret project. I was hoping to wait and share it with you when all the details were worked out, when a pretty website was up, and all the edges were smoothed out. Well that’s not the case.  The edges are still very rough. But there is beauty in the process and I need people to be apart of that.  I need my community or I will fall back into fear.  I need you, your prayers and encouragement.

So here it is, the big reveal. My heart exposed.

I believe God has called me to use my photography for His Kingdom.  The specific mission: to use photography to spur others on to love and good deeds.

( See Hebrews 10:24)

The first project will take place later this summer. I will be traveling to China to photograph an adoption! The purpose is to both bless the adoptive parents with beautiful images and to use the photos publicly to educate and encourage others to both adopt and support the fatherless. (More details on this coming soon.)

The larger vision, which is so beyond me it is overwhelming, is to start a nonprofit organization that would do more service projects like this with photography. So not just photographing adoptions but anything that the Lord would see fit such as mission trips, small business in poor nations making a difference, people taking care of widows, feeding the poor, prison outreach, and much more.  The possibilities are endless but the goal would be synonymous: to photograph world changers to spur others on to do the same.

I’ve spent many months at God’s feet in prayer over this new path He has placed before me.  I do believe it is divinely inspired. However, details are still up in the air, there are so many unknowns. I can easily get lost and discouraged when I begin to think about how all of this will come together. This is when I run back to His feet and remind myself that He is in control. I trust Him. I love Him. And because of His great love for me I will take a leap of faith holding on to the promise that He knows the plans He has for my life.

I am so excited to see what God’s going to do in this to accomplish His purpose. And I am declaring now that this project is all for His glory. I am just a vessel, a humble servant who has heard a call and decided to say “yes.”

Will you join me in this journey? I need prayer warriors and encouragers. Friends to remind me of this vision when the rain comes and things get cloudy.
“Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three stands is not quickly broken.” Ecclesiastes 4:12

Tokyo Portrait Photographer | The Pagano Family

I am always honored when my friends want me to take their pictures. Sarah was one of the first people I met here in Japan. She greeted me with such a kind smile and immediately made me feel welcome. She opened her home to me and even brought me wine and chocolate when the stress of moving across the world was weighing on me. Those little were huge for me and will never be forgotten. Sarah and her lovely family will be leaving Japan in a few short weeks and I know that they will all be missed.  And Sarah’s talents will be missed as well. Sarah started her photography business here and has grown leaps and bounds as a photographer. I am amazed at how quickly she became a rockstar behind her camera. She even took our family portraits which you can see here (http://www NULL.sarahpaganophotography NULL.com/4/post/2013/11/booe-family-faces NULL.html) on her site. I know that she will continue to do great things with her portrait photography and look forward to watching her journey unfold. If you want to watch it too follow her here (https://www NULL.facebook NULL.com/SarahPaganoPhotography).

And now please enjoy these images from the Pagano’s Saynora Session.
