It’s A Girl

On May 24th I had my twenty week sonogram for baby number two. It was so nice to see her and peek into her world. She moved like crazy during her sonogram. My mom and best friend got to join me. It was so nice having them there. Andy was deployed at the time and not able to make it.

With our first pregnancy we chose not to found out the baby’s sex until birth. My husband loved every minute of that journey. He says it was the best surprise every. I was so convinced that baby number one was a boy that not finding out didn’t really have the same affect on me. But it was fun to do. Once. Second time around I knew I wanted to find out. I wanted to be able to address the baby and really bond with him/her before birth. So my husband, being the sweet man that he is, agreed we would find out this time. Since he was halfway around the world  during the sonogram we decided to have the doctor write the sex down and not tell me at the appointment. We wanted to find out together.  So after my doctor’s visit I immediately went home and got on Skype for the big reveal with Andy. Below are some images of us finding out.

I showed Andy first so he could make the big announcement.  But because the computer screen was so bright I could see right through the card. So we literally both found out at the exact same time. Andy’s first words were, “OH BOY!”

IT’S A GIRL. I had a very strong feeling that this baby was a girl. It’s nice to be right. I’m now two for two on guessing the sex of our babies. Mother’s intuition? Perhaps. Who knows. But I am very excited to know that our DAUGHTER will be joining our family in September. Now I have three months to wrap my head around being a mom to a little girl. For some reason that scares me a little bit. But I know God will fill in the gaps and prepare me.

Did you find out what you were having when you were pregnant? Or did you wait? Or do you want to find out when the time comes? I’d love to hear your story.

cheryl mccandless (http://aol) - Is that right for my website? You will have to forgive me for being so computer illiterate. I was of the generation that did not have the opportunity to know what the sex of my future babies were going to be. I am so glad that I did not know what they were going to be. I had three beautiful children. 2 girls and 1 boy. Of course my husband and I wanted our boy first so the girls would have a big brother to watch over them. Needless to say we had to try two more times. It was so worth having to try three times for our complete family. Renee and Andy, you two are so blessed to have your boy and girl right off. I can’t wait to see the newest addition joining your family. May God continue to Bless you all. Love ya, Cheryl
