I am on the map!!!

Lately I have been researching about Search Engine Optimization and how to get people to my website. This is actually a pretty lofty topic and I still have so much to learn. My first goal though was to get my name on Google maps. I wanted my name to show up when people googled “abilene photographers.” Well several months ago I registered with Google and I have been waiting ever since for my name to show up on that list. Well I check randomly today and it was there!!! I actually shouted for joy in my office.  I am finally on the map!!!! I am so excited. REALLY. This is a big deal for my little business.  Check it out.

Wow. I am pumped!

Now I didn’t make the first page of photographers. I am on the second page. But I will settle with that for now. But with your help perhaps I can get on the first page…

Please see if you can find me on Google maps.

Here is how:

1. Open Google and search “Abilene Photographers”

2. Click on the top link that should say  Local business results for photographers near Abilene, TX (http://maps NULL.google NULL.com/maps?client=safari&rls=en&oe=UTF-8&um=1&ie=UTF-8&q=abilene+photographers&fb=1&gl=us&hq=photographers&hnear=Abilene,+TX&view=text&ei=CeUoTJSTJ8KqlAfrkeiACA&sa=X&oi=local_group&ct=more-results&resnum=1&ved=0CC4QtQMwAA)

2. Scroll down to the bottom and click the arrow to get to page 2

3. I should be letter “J”

4. If you find me then click the link on the map to my site. That may help me get moved from page 2 to page 1.
