Project 52: Week 1 | BALANCED

I recently blogged about how I will be participating in a weekly photo challenge entitled Project 52.  I was suppose to post my first picture last Friday. Well, life happened and I did not get to post my image. My sweet boy was sick and just wanted his mommy to hold him. So I had to put everything else on hold and just be his mom. Ironically, the delay fits perfectly with this week’s picture topic.

My theme for Project 52 is called WANNA BE.

Over the next year I will focus each week’s image on who I want to be and the types of characteristics I want to portray in my life. This project is about the woman I want to become. For me this project is about personal growth and reflection. I spend so much time taking care of others that I need something that focuses just on me., and who I WANNA BE! So here we go…

I wear many hats in my life. Like most women do. I am a wife. A mother. A business owner. A daughter. A friend. And each one of those categories of who I am has sub-categories. I am a cook, a prayer warrior, teacher, a book-keeper, a blogger, a house keeper, a photographer…the list goes on and on. And I struggle to find BALANCE. I typically pour myself into one thing and tend to neglect others.  If I decide to focus on the house then I will clean and organize and straighten leaving no time for office work. Or if I decide that I need to work on the business everything else is on the back burner. I want to be able to balance my time and not feel guilt doing so. This is going to take some time for me to achieve, which is why I chose it for the first week. Gives me 51 weeks to work on it.  And it will take work. But thats ok. I think finding balance is worth the effort.

How do you find balance with the many hats you wear? I’d love to hear your story.

Lauren Z - I would encourage/challenge you to find balance by intentionally prioritizing the things you spend your time on. Know your biblical priorities inside and out. This way, when Satan tries to attack and tell you you’re not doing ‘enough’, or your spending ‘too’ much time in one area…you can combat the lie with truth. Our World, tells us that women can ‘do it all’…but is that what the Word of God says? Yes, we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us, but are ‘all things’ God’s things or are they Worldly desires/deceit? What is best in God’s perfect will for your life? Are you putting business over intentional, Godly friendships? Are you putting housework over quality family time? I noticed in your above statement that you said, “I am: a wife, mother, business owner, daughter, friend.” I know you probably didn’t mean anything by it on purpose, but to a semi-outsider, it shows a shift in priorities…

Remember,
“Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope: Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:21-23

Love you friend. Know that I will continually pray for your balance!
