Back Home and Blessed

WOW! Israel was amazing. I had such a great time seeing the sites and getting to know the people on the team and people who live there. This trip blessed my socks off! It truly was amazing to walk where Jesus walked and see places that I have read about in my bible. During this trip I prayed that God would speak to me and open my eyes to things that He wanted me to see. I was expecting to experience this supernatural high when I visited some of these places in Israel, but that’s not what happened. Please don’t misunderstand me, it was awesome to be there and I would go back again tomorrow. But I felt like God was telling me that His presence is everywhere, that you don’t have to go to Israel or any holy place to experience the fullness of God.  God also confirmed several times that He is not finished with me. I fear sometimes that God has set me aside and is no longer working in me, that He is done with me and moved on. But I was reminded several times what the Word says in Philippians 1:6. ” And I am sure that God, who began a good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on that day when Jesus comes back again.” So be encouraged. No matter where you are in your walk, if you are a new believer or have been in relationship with God for years, God is not done with you!

The second thing I took from this trip was a new passion for reading God’s Word. The Jewish believers I met in Israel really know the scriptures. They know why the believe what they believe and they really own their faith. That has inspired me to do the same. I want to own my faith. I want to know what the Bible says and stand firm on it’s promises. This trip has give me a new desire to read the Bible because I have visited some of the places it talks about. I have seen them with my own eyes and want to read more about what happened there. I am excited to pick up my Bible and read it with new eyes. That desire is really a gift from God and I pray that everyone reading this will have a renewed sense of joy and excitement when you read the Bible.

Israel was an experience that I will carry with me forever. I look forward to sharing more about this trip with you in the days ahead. I took many pictures and have tons of stories to share. Please come back often to get updates on this trip and what God is doing in Israel and in my life!

Blessings!

This picture was taken at sunrise at the Sea of Galilee. It was a breath taking view. And best of all Jesus walked on this water!

This is the ruins of a Jewish synagogue in Charazin. I am sitting where Jesus would have stood to teach the message.
